Well, I know that title may sound a little conceited, but I've been attending a Self Esteem class for the past few weeks and I thought I'd give this a try - to see if I could come up with 25 positive things that I either like about me, am proud about, or are just positive.
In the past few weeks, due to many events in life, I have really learned to try my very best to focus on the positive things in life. There have been too many years, of mine, spent being negative and focusing on the sad or depressing things in life...like, 'I wish I had's' or 'If only...". So, this is me putting my work in my Self Esteem class to practice! Now, let's see what I come up with and how long it takes! I'll let you know at the end!
1. I love my curly hair. I have my Daddy's curls and have no idea what I would do without them! I mean, I might actually have to style my hair if it was straight, so, I'll keep the curls!
2. I think I'm a pretty humorous person! I think I have a good sense of humor!
3. I have learned to be thankful for my disability...some days are definitely harder than others, but it has made me who I am today.
4. I love that I can get people to laugh and have a good time! One of my goals in life is to hear laughter and see people smile!
5. I'm really good with kids! I love spending time with them...I seem to just click with them all!
6. I love it that I'm so good at keeping in touch with people, even when they're not, sometimes! Would you believe me if I told you that I still talk to my favorite 8th grade teacher about once a week?!
7. I'm proud of myself for walking! Especially since there were a few that thought I never would!
8. I have such determination! When I put my mind to something, I do it!
9. I'm the best Mommy to Juno, my baby (kitten!). I show her all the love and affection a Mommy could ever muster!
10. I have a great singing voice when I actually try...I just don't tell everyone!
11. I love that I am really learning from my past mistakes and from those around me, and putting a lot of necessary actions into my daily life!
12. I can type pretty fast for someone who can't put her fingers on the right keys!
13. I like that I'm so outgoing and can strike up a conversation with, pretty much, anyone and everyone!
14. I have good picture taking capabilities!
15. I am a superb writer! I love writing fiction, nonfiction, poems, etc.
16. My English is very proper, when I want I to be! - Thanks Mom!!!
17. I'm proud of myself for being able to be independent! I have my own apartment, make my own meals, and pay my bills!
18. I make a very yummy home-made pasta sauce! Thanks, again, Mom! - it's a spin-off of her recipe!
19. I make the best chicken, EVER!!! I know that's 2 foods in a row, but, really, I make a mean chicken dinner! Thanks to Wendy, that is!
20. I like it that I can see the positive in people!
21. I'm proud of myself for making this list - all on my own! I wouldn't have been able to do this a few months ago!
22. I'm an excellent reader...either aloud or to myself!
23. I'm creative...especially when it comes to making scrapbooks!
24. I'm proud of all the progress I've made, especially within the past few months.
25. I'm an excellent dancer! I have great rhythm and know a good beat when I hear one!
WOW! I really did it! That was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be! I guess all those Self Esteem classes are really working! HOORAY!!!

A Cat In Heat And Just Other Stuff...
Well, it appears as though my poor, little kitty is in heat. She's been crying this awful, loud cry all day! I guess it's that special time to get her spayed! So, that means I'll have to make a special trip down to the good ole' SPCA and pick up an application to have her spayed the cheapy way - meaning, I have no money, so I go the poor people's route.
So, you ask, what's new besides Juno crying like a banshee?!?! Well, let's see...
I'm addicted to Facebook, I'm chatting with my bestest girlfriend, Kristie, online right now, wishing that she was somehow here with me!, I take random surveys online because I have no life right now, and I'm thinking about how I have to go out tomorrow morning and pick up my meds. Stupid winter!
Well, I really don't have anything exciting to write here, so, this will probably be the lamest post EVER!!! No fun stories to tell, no mind boggling events to record, just plain boredom!

I Called The Cops On My Mom!!!
Well, I've had quite the exciting night! It all started when I called my Mom to just say hello...
We had been talking for a while and then she thought she heard a knock on the door! Well, I didn't hear the dog, Cu Math, bark, which I thought was a little odd. But, I just patiently waited for Mom to come back to the phone with a report of who was there, if anyone. I waited and waited and, with no avail, no Mom.
Well, if you know me at all, you'd know that I have quite the over-active imagination. My Dad just so happens to be out of town right now, so, when Mom didn't come right back on the phone, my crazy mind started thinking up all sorts of scenarios - mostly bad, of course! Most people know that my Mom had a bad fall about 2 1/2 years ago and her ankle still hasn't healed properly. Well, here are some of those really awesome scenarios my mind came up with (this is all in a matter of moments, I'll have you know!):
1. Whoever was at the door must have grabbed her and covered her mouth really fast, cause I didn't hear a scream. But they were awfully quiet about it and must have taken out the dog without Mom knowing.
2. Mom slipped and fell and hit her head...therefore, couldn't yell for help, cause she was knocked out cold.
3. She had a senior's moment and totally forgot that I was on the phone...keep in mind, this usually never happens, so it was furthest from my mind.
Well, as time passed by, I got more and more freaked out. I ended up calling Georgie, a family friend, wondering if I should really be so concerned. Well, after I told Georgie the story, she thought that, perhaps, I should phone the Police in my Mom's town and have them check it out. Oh, I kinda forgot to mention that I had been trying to call Mom, but it just went directly to voicemail, which I thought was rather strange, since I know that my parents have call waiting. All the more reason to think that she was kidnapped or unconscious!
So, after 30 minutes of trying to get through, I called 911. I told them the story, was transferred to the Police up in Halifax, gave them my Mom's phone # (I didn't know her address!!!), and was reassured that a cruiser would be sent to her house to check on her.
Well, at this point, I was completely stressed out and worried, thinking the worst, of course! So, I went on Facebook to try to distract myself. Heather, my sister-in-law, was online, so I started telling her about my concerns! And that was the start of everyone else's panic!
Heather told Ryan and Ryan called Josh. Then Josh called my Dad, who is presently in Florida!, and got him all worried! I waited and waited for the phone to ring...when it finally did, my Caller ID read, 'Unknown'. I assumed the worst, thinking it was probably a Policeman calling to tell me that they had found my Mom in a bad way. To my surprise, it was Josh! I then retold the story for, what seemed like, the 10th time, and got him all worked up! Then I told him that I had already called the Police and they were going to go and check on her. He tried to calm me down, but it didn't work too well.
FINALLY, my phone .beeped, telling me that my Mom was calling me on the other line. When I answered, all I could hear was her laughing! I was so relieved!!! Long story short, her Home Teachers, guys from church, had stopped by for their monthly visit. Apparently my Dad had told my Mom that they were coming, but, in the confusion of his leaving yesterday, she forgot and/or didn't remember him telling her. So, YES!, my Mom had a Senior's moment and totally forgot that she had been talking to me! I nearly had a heart attack!
But, in the end, everything worked out just fine and I even succeeded in totally embarrassing my Mom! Haha!!! Serves her right for forgetting about me, eh?!?! I'm sure this will be the family joke for the next little while! What a night!
